There are many decent applications that were not preinstalled on my phone or that are way better than stock counterparts.- gReader Pro for RSS reading,- Read It Later Pro for saving interesting URLs,- Pocket Casts for podcast listening (I will not believe that any of you, guys, really like the Google Listen app),- Winamp, for listening and synchronizing my mp3 music,- Smart Keyboard Pro, great keyboard by the way,- ezPDF reader, for reading PDFs, making notes in PDFs and much more. to name only a few. Without these apps, my smartphone would not be “”smart”" at all.
In the last show, you asked “”Who buys the apps, anyway?”", Well, I do, If I like the application, I do not mind spending a couple of bucks on it, Best regards,Pawel, SHOW DETAILS:BLOG cnet.com/android-atlasSTREAM warm winter mandala iphone case cnet.com/live/TIME Wednesdays @ 10am PTEMAIL androidatlas@cnet.comTWITTER @androidatlasJAYMAR@jaymarcabebeJUSTIN @notmyrealnameJESSICA @jdolcourtPHONE 866-344-CNET (2638), Jessica Dolcourt joins us as we dish on Google's confusing content strategy, an underground Android pin frenzy, and a few hot, though slightly creepy, apps coming out of SXSW..
Here's what Barnes & Noble has to say about all this. For those considering the Nook Tablet 8GB, it offers 4GB of storage space for personal files. That's still limited, but as noted, you can always add that microSD card for up to 32GB more. In other Nook news, Barnes & Noble has updated its free Nook for Android app, adding support for Nook Comics to Android tablet customers. The company says that, "With the version 3.1 update, Android tablet users can now access Barnes & Noble's expansive collection of comics, graphic novels, and manga on their 7- to 10-inch devices (Android OS 2.2 and newer)."The update also includes Nook Shop enhancements that allow customers to "easily add and edit default account credit card information, un-archive content with a single tap in Nook Library, and other improvements."If you're looking for more space to store your personal content on the 16GB Nook Tablet, just head into a B&N store.
One of our biggest disappointments with Barnes & Noble's original 16GB Nook Tablet was that while it was ostensibly twice as capacious as the 8GB Kindle Fire only 1GB of its internal memory was accessible for side-loaded user content, So, unless you invested in a microSD expansion card, you couldn't drag and drop a lot of music and movies for those times where streaming Netflix or Pandora wouldn't cut cut it, such as when you're on a long flight, Now Barnes & Noble is giving users the option of reallocating the memory partition to leave room for more personal storage on its 16GB Nook warm winter mandala iphone case Tablets, Instead of the 1GB that's currently reserved for personal content, you can change it to 8GB and leave 5.5GB reserved for Barnes & Noble content (e-books, apps, magazines), To make the change, all you have to do is go into a B&N store and have a "trained Nookseller" perform the operation..
David Small, Verizon Wireless' CTO, reiterated the point in an interview with Dow Jones yesterday. In addition to committing fully--and publicly--to LTE handsets, Verizon will also double its LTE markets from nearly 200 to 400 by the end of 2012. In fact, tomorrow marks Verizon's rollout of its 203rd market with the addition of seven new cities. Verizon's LTE promise all but confirms expectations of a 4G LTE iPhone, plus LTE-ready Windows phones and BlackBerrys, not only Android, the majority of handsets currently represented on Verizon's shelves.
